Post by: Wyatt on August 24, 2008, 02:49:40 PM
This is a fun one I did a few months ago, and my wife
just did a picture for it, so I wanted to  share it with you.

Well here we go traveling again. I've never been to Mexico. Now I think you just took me there :)

Picture fits perfectly  ;D

The inspiration must be strong, since it's a bit different from your usual style but nonetheless interesting and it works for me.
Despite your picture I imagined to be sitting in the shadow of a large tree watching the sea

Cheers

Hey Wyatt, cool little tune. Reminds me of my first into bands. When I was around 12, I played with a mexican band for a couple years...polkas, ballads and cumbias (sp?) over and over and over  ;) They were all older than I was, and it was the first I noticed being the front man was much better than being the keyboard guy for getting the girls! I was probably to young to be jealous, but Rudy sure did his share of the babes :D

Amigo, very goooooood

You’ve really nailed the feel on this one!  Great musicianship throughout!

A tad short though!  Crank out your guitar and add another verse or two!

Somehow I missed this little gem.... sweet bit of work, gents!
If I was king ::), I'd axe the synth trumpet and get Wyatt to lay down some harmonica.... :-

This song is growing realy nice  8)

Something to think about is the mix...
I'm listening on headphones and realised that this is a straight left & right mix, with the bass & drums centered.
A bit unconventional since there is no centered melody part.
This can be by choice of course, but even then I think that the stereo image is a bit width ?

Very useful comment..

..it is more pronounced in headphones.. with my speakers it sounds ok,
since my studio speakers are set up each at 45 degrees off of the center line..
..that is another clue..

So yes, I agree..think it could be narrower.

Thanks!
