Title: Just a short demo
Post by: kara on April 12, 2007, 09:57:45 AM
I've made this litle tune as a demo for the Laserblade synthesizer from HG Fortune
It shows pretty well of what this synth is capable.
All tracks except drums are Laserblade.

Hi Rony,

It all sounds pretty well...
the only thing I would ad is maybe a longer, slow melody line - I think this would be very well possible above this material.
jus a small suggestion of course  ;)

BTW: thanks for this great forum!

bye,

frederik

Cool is the word :)

Laserblade is actually a good lead synth, it cuts very well trough sounds in a mix.

Another good one is Synthmaster from kv331audio.com
I'm actually very impressed with this one, unbelievable possibilities, and that's a comment from a hardware guy (me)
You should check this one out, especially since you can get it for free, if you make a demo song  with it.
That is the way I got mine for free.

What I like the most of course is that people contact me to make demo song for there Vsti  ;D

Hi Rony!

It seems things have went strange for me again. My windows player won't recognize this or offthewall's kvr entry. Although it did play frederik's tunes.  Not sure what it is this time  ???

This is the message I get:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found".

I think this is similar to before at some point.

This is very sci-fi sounding Rony and a massive change for you. This xounds like it could be used in a sci-fi show,  it has that scary vibe to it.  Nice mix of sounds. Intersesting track. Enjoyed it. :)

Anybody else has troubles ?
Very strange indeed because this time I know for sure that nothing has changed on our side

Thanks Blip :)
Actually the whole thing was just inspired by the synth.
I  programmed a couple of patches and start to play witht he thing, the result was this demo

Now I remember. Acts the same as thinking of Jackie. Won't even play if I download it first. What rendering of MP3 is it? 128k? or something maybe a little less mainstream?

It could be that it's rendered with variable VBR, perhaps that's it ?
Still my windows media player plays it...

Well, I tried with a different player but it still plays good here
No problems so far, I can't figure out what the problem could be

Cheers

Well, if yours plays it, then that can't be it. I'll find out if there is an update to the version I have. Sorry to keep bothering you with this, its just that I like to listen to your work too!!

Hey Rony, I checked a few days ago and I do have the latest player. However, I thought, what the heck, I'll try it again today, and now it works ???  No clue, but it must have been on my end somehow.

Anyway...great laser like sounds in sort of a frantic atmosphere.  8)  Could imagine it working in a science fiction flick.

thanks for sharing Kara,
Demo sounds good here.
I love free VSTi
Actually Ive never bought one.
The freebies keep me so busy, I dont think ive actually played with them all yet.

Actually I don't use a lot of free Vsti's, or perhaps I should say that I'm not a real Vsti guy
I think the principal reason is that I can't keep up with the fast evolution of Vsti's

How do you guys do that  :o

The only Vsti that I realy know well is Crystal, because I took the time ( = months) to learn it. I just can't learn a new Vsti every month AND play music. Time is just missing  :(

The only way out for me, that I found, is stick to hardware. The hardware that I have, I know realy well and I only buy hardware that I'm convinced of that I will add something extra to my sounds and that I REALY need it :)

I go through KVR downloading like a mad man, play with the VSTis until one has a particular tone that leads to a new song creation.  Latestly I found ERS drums, was impressed with the GUI and found all others by Andreas Errson, and loved the PolyIbit which immediately formed a melodic riff that I was able to run with.  It often happens that way.
BUt I have two Alesis QSR's that I dont think I could ever part with.  Unless they are turned into VSTi's.   The best thing that happened to Powertracks, was VST's implementation.
