Title: Hampster Alliance and Jeskola Buzz Machines
Post by: Oren on August 25, 2010, 04:54:23 AM
We've all enjoyed Magmavander's creations from Jeskola Buzz - http://www.buzzmachines.com/ - , and I've recently found another artist who uses Buzz software with amazing results: "Hampster Alliance".

...and his music is free to download... 8)

Attached is one of my favourite synthetic creations of all times, from the Hamster Alliance website -

For all that people say you must have this or that equipment, I think this proves that talent trumps technology.

Agreed.
...and it's a testament to the value of user-developed digital audio tools versus corporate software packages...

Yes it is, it is basicaly a proof of how far you can get by investing your time in mastering the tools you allready have against investing money in new tools ....

I was hoping you would like it, Thom.
It's one thing for some guitar jockey to be blown away by a synthetic production, but when experienced pro-audio hardware/software enthusiasts like you, Will, and Kara are favourably impressed - that's something!

We all enjoy our new toys - my most recent guitar or your new workstation.
But the Buzzers seem to thrive with a modest investment in computer hardware, and get their jollies from exploring the latest Buzz machines and how they interact with their current selection of Buzz tools. Fascinating.

This is where Buzz is fasinating.... Buzz machines are as such mostly pretty small and simple, consider them as basic building blocks, it get's interesting when you start to combine them. Unilimited possibilities, you can build a hugh modular synth or a complete studio using the basic blocks.
And it's even possible on older PC's, my buzz PC is an old AMD 64 with 1Gig of memory and I've never runned out of power with buzz
