What an outstanding performance. Like the 'walk-in' at the start of the video, and the shots where the guys are clearly bouncing ideas across to each other. Too many band players seem to live in their own acoustic cocoon.

Wow, really thanks for those nice reactions guys! Let me also assure you that we couldn't have done this without this forum and all of you who have showed interest in the past. This is a top place and a great community and big props to Rony and Francis for managing it!

We'd really love to do some kind of virtual gig/internet broadcast for you all sometime, and there's a system called ustream that maybe would allow that... I've seen it used as a one-way video/audio stream with a chat room attached to it so there can be feedback, so that would be interesting... Watch this space! ;)

We're very happy to announce that we'll be playing a special gig online very soon for all of you! It will be given via our channel at the ustream website (http://www.ustream.tv/channel/marcjx8p (http://www.ustream.tv/channel/marcjx8p)) and will involve video as well as audio. There'll also be a live chatroom for you all to let us know what you think during the gig. You don't need to register at ustream to follow the gig, but you will have to do so to take part in the chatroom. It would be cool though if you all did register as this would make the experience a lot more interactive.

The gig will be in the next few weeks, probably on a Saturday night late so it'd be in the afternoon for our American/Canadian friends. I will be doing some tests over the coming days to see how it all goes.

You don't need to register at ustream to follow the gig, but you will have to do so to take part in the chatroom. It would be cool though if you all did register as this would make the experience a lot more interactive. ;)

Excellent! Don't forget that if you register you can also use the 'join crowd' function in our channel. It's like the 'Become friends' function of Facebook, or 'Follow' on Twitter and it'll make it easier for us to see who of you is there and to let you all know of other shows. We're really looking forward to doing this! :-

A little update on the topic...

I've been testing the stream with 87PM yesterday night, and it looks and sound great !

The real show is next Saturday at 23.00 Hr Dutch (or French,Belgium,...)  time, I'm not sure what happened with GMT with the switching to winter time here...

As this kind of time difference usually ends up confusing myself as well ;) I decided to check the World Clock website at http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/). According to this, the GMT is still the same - so we're in GMT+1 with 23:00, the UK is on GMT (making it 22:00) and other parts of the world can be computed accordingly. Anyway, the plan is to open de transmission about an hour earlier so you can already check out how it works. Anyway, testing it was brilliant and I hope this will turn out to be a new medium for Kara Moon members to show off our music to each other!

Tic toc tic toc... Getting closer! We've already found a way to reorganize my home studio so that we'll both be able to play there simultaneously (normally one of us plays and the other one sits back or presses record buttons or such...). Anyway, hope to see a few of you this Saturday. Don't forget to register and to 'join our crowd' (which is ustream talk for the twitter 'follow' function)so we can see which KM'ers are on ustream! :-

Thanks guys! It really was a blast doing this, being able to play live for our friends who haven't seen us in action yet. :- We're definitely planning to do this again but, as said before, I also hope this will be just the first in a string of kara-moon online gigs as we'd really love to see you all play live as well.

Oh dear, what can I say that doesn't sound like a 'bottle' job?

This may come as a surprise to folks on here, but I don't have any video hardware at all. I've never had an interest in it (blame my mum for subjecting me and my brother to the horrors of home 8mm cine when we were little).

I've not been in front of any kind of audience for donkey's years so I really don't know how I'd react to that.

Marc & Percy did an excellent job filling an hour with a class double act. How could I manage anything approaching that by myself? I suppose I could run sequenced backing tracks and just play a melody on top - dunno.

We perhaps could do one somewhere in january...
That is, if I can convince my lady to put our living room upside down for this  8)

Anyway, it's all about fun and I don't want to pressure people into doing this. Having said that, I'd really enjoy seeing (or even just hearing, Folderol... ;) ) everyone here playing live or semi-live. I think it would even deepen the insight we have into each others creative processes.
