I'm very tempted to try out these freebies,although I've never been able to get freeware to work on my PC's.

Thanks for the tips though,as they certainly seem worth looking into.

Working in Linux, most of these software tools are difficult to use, but Linux audio has quite a few interesting soft-synth "plugins of its own... http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/linux/SOFTWARE_SYNTHESIZERS/
