Title: The current state of "Frank", my wash-and-wear guitar
Post by: Oren on March 14, 2014, 06:15:11 PM
"Frank" (short for Frankenstein) is my name for this guitar that gets more use than any of my other instruments. It is in a constant state of change in the quest for optimum performance and premium tone. Most recently, I've installed a stainless steel pickguard form Johnny Sonic at Pro Steel Pickguards in Australia - http://www.prosteelpickguards.com/ - a single YJM Fury pickup  - http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/electric/stratocaster/medium-output/stks10_yjm_fury/ - at the bridge, and a single CTS 250K volume control - http://www.allparts.com/EP-0085-000-CTS-250K-Split-Shaft-Audio-Pot_p_1269.html

Good job the 'camouflage' doesn't run up the neck - you'd never be able find it once you put it down :P
but never mind that, how does it affect the sound - if at all?

Thanks for looking, Gentlemen!

It will be a few weeks until I get the adjustments for string position and pick-up height just right. Then, a recording - probably a Spanish classical guitar composition I've been working on.
Working with this guitar in a musical genre to which it is emphatically not suited will test its mettle in extreme conditions ...  O0
