Title: Please try this, Version 20.12.4
Post by: bvdp on July 17, 2021, 10:42:40 PM
A new version for you! Biggest "new" are the -xTSplit and -xCSplit options. The extensive and excellent docs cover the details on this ... please read!

I suspect there may be bugs in the forest here. Please test and let me know!

Get it at: https://mellowood.ca/mma/downloads.html#developer

You don't seem to have any visibility 'elsewhere',
Can I suggest you subscribe to the Linux Audio User email list, and join the LinuxMusicians website.

That misses the point. How will people even know what to look for, let alone where?

Sorry ... maybe I'm breathing too much smoke from all the fires around here (Yes, it is seriously bad!) ... but I miss your well meaning point completely.

I post new releases to a small mailing list which people can subscribe to from the main MMA web site and I post new releases to linux-audio-announce. I tried to run a blog for a few years, but the lack of readership really was disappointing :) I did read linuxmusicians.com for a bit, but didn't find that much value.

Honestly, I find the "marketing" part of getting MMA out to more folk the most depressing part of all this. Would be nice to have some users/supporters do this. But, I guess we just solider on :)

Yes, I know that feeling... I have some programs myself that could use some more coverage.

The last couple of years I noticed I have changed my attitude slightly. I develop the programs for my own personal use and pleasure and share them with anyone interested. Is noone interested? Okay, it still is my pleasure.

I have also noticed that musicians are a very quiet group of people (sounds contradictionary, doesn't it?). On the ChordPro forum (https://groups.io/g/ChordPro/) I have about 100 members, and just a couple of them can be considered active. About 80 of them have never posted a message. Most messages are posted by new users: they subscribe, ask a question, I answer, and then fall silent. Frustrating? Well, as I said I now focus on my own pleasure, helped by people that do respond.

Agree 100% with your comments.

The pity is that so many people miss the fruits of our labors :)

i do take your points. I guess I'm just a but disappointed that it's so difficult to get attention for all the work you do - then again I get the same problem with my work :/
