I don't how many of you use Analyzers while doing digital mixing/mastering (should be everybody really)..
I stumbled on this plugin this morning.  Seems to be an excellent idea. An analyzer that you can add tracks to so you can visually see why, for instance, the guitar is sounding muddy when I add the bass...or why the signal clips when the synth pad is added, etc.
This was an excellent idea, and they are giving it away. (donations accepted of course)

Hmm, still i can't load this on my Boss BR660  Roll Eyes
I guess i jave to trust my ears...   Shocked

I actually read a couple of articles & opinions on the fact how far your eyes influence your ears with visual tools like this.
Very interesting !

Links?

I use visual tools for clues quite often.
I don't rely on them beyond my ears...but they help me personally many times.

Thanks Kara
I could relate to the second one much better than the first, although it was less applicable to music.
The first one spent too much time trying to define a math process(formula) for the results, rather than focusing on the usefullness of the results. Probably because it was a government funded study done by a collegiate math department.  Which of course has it's own influence on the results, depending on why the government chose to fund this study originally.  I've learned along the way that government studies can have results just as skewed as privately funded research, depending on motives..one immediate question was why was an audio-visual study done by a math institute as opposed to a neural institute?

Bob,

I have some pretty far out visual analysis  in Audition3, but this sounds like it will make a useful addition.

Thanks, man.
