well, hello!  My first post here.

let's see -- in the 80s, I really enjoyed synths and sequencing -- lost interest a few years later, sold most of my stuff and packed the rest away.  Sometime a few years ago I thought I wanted to sequence stuff again and bought Cubase VST5, but never did much with it.

Lately though I seem to be getting back into it -- one thing recently has been the discovery of the SQ8L VSTi (an Ensoniq SQ80 emulator), been digging through my old sequences, and attempting to recreate them in Cubase.  Which is going to take quite a while Smiley

so, anyway, in the meantime here's something I did in the late 80s or early 90s sometime -- pardon the slight warble at the beginning, it's from a very old cassette, the warble goes away fairly quickly --

and yes, within seconds of registering I managed to screw up my page so that the song name doesn't appear correctly but the download button seems to work ok Embarrassed

what else -- I play guitar, a little out of practice but can still more or less play it, a few other instruments that I'm so out of practice at as to have to learn anew.  And I'm learning (rank beginner) keyboard.

Anyway, looking forward to sharing my little ditties and hearing what everyone else is doing -- I dunno what 'category' my stuff is, it's all over the map, I guess the piece linked above might be sort of prog-rockish, or peppy new-age, or something like that...

Hello and welcome here  Cool
Interesting track you posted, sounds indeed as prog-rock but with more synths then usual, very interesting.

Real good composition work in there

Ho Beboop. Nice to see you here.

That's not a half bad track you put up. I wonder if you'd think it worth remaking it, or is it something you wouldn't want to go back to?

kara, moon, thanks!  Prog-rock it is then -- I've had the tune 15-20 years and never been sure what to call it.  Now I know Smiley

laguna, yeah I like a lot of progrock stuff, those Bruford albums with Holdsworth, Gong, still pull those out and listen sometimes.  Glad you liked it, 'dreamy' for better or worse seems to be where I go with synth stuff, hopefully I can get some more of them up as time permits.

folderol, well, that's the question I'm pondering -- having fun and nostalgia going through this stuff right now, OTOH recreating these old sequences without the original hardware is problematic, lot of things to sort out before I know just how problematic.  So, hey, I dunno!

wish I hadn't sold the TX81Z
