 Shocked
OK, I only had half an hour free so have sang along with most of the song and sent it to you by e-mail.
Do what you like with it. The file is the exact length of your original track so should line up in your sequencer. There is no processing so just cut and chop and fit in wherever you like.  Evil

Martin,
I just imported the song into Reaper and worked a new track alongside the original, then exported the new track at the same length.
I dropped the original file into MixMeister (http://www.mixmeister.com/download_freestuff.html) and it analyzed at 118bpm, if that helps.

I'm sure one of our audio wizards here (rharv or oren) will volonteer to line up all those tracks and mix and master.
Or do you want to do it yourself Thom ?

Kara,

For me to attempt to line up everything myself,is way over my head and I originally was hoping for someone else to arrange things,as this is way to complex for me,I think.

As I had said in the beginning,I had no idea how this was all going to work out, because I am certainly not a recording wizard by any means.

If someone would be kind enough to syncronize & record everything from here,I would really appreciate it.

I also need to know who to send OffTheWall's file to via e-mail?

Thank you OffTheWall, for taking time out of your busy schedule to contribute your vocal track and a big thanks goes out to everyone involved in this project. Smiley

Ok thanks , James. bpm = 118 that's all I needed to know. Didn't know a bpm analyzer existed, thanks for the link.

I'm in  Cool
So, maybe we must make clear which Lines each one of us is going to sing.
I couldn't resist though and I've already recorded 2 lines of the Song!
"And in our World....Christmas Time"
Unless someone else is recording this part, I will post the Song with the 2 Lines I recorded

Guys,

I'm into four high-maintenance songs which need to mixed and mastered, and some of tne tracks altered. I'll see how the work goes, and then contact Thom if there is time to get in on this project.
As long as the individual vocal tracks are recorded full-length, with a count-in that lines up with Thom's, there will be no problems. A Monkey'sAudio or FLAC file, including that 4-beat (is it 4/4 time  Cheesy?) click-count at the beginning so track alignment is precise, would do very nicely.
I suggest e-mailing them all to Thom, and then I'll contact him when I'm sure I can complete this, and arrange to get the whole package in one big zip file.

Remember: We need a full-length file (as long as the complete backing track) with a click-count at the beginning - even if it is mostly silence. Interestingly, a .wav file of this type compressed with Monkey'sAudio or FLAC will be very small....

Oren.

(A recent session with bluesman Tom Eberhardt went very well, but we ended up with far more material than we anticipated, and it has to be ready before - you guessed it - Christmas Tongue.)

Since Oren's availablity is slim to none,I thought it would be ideal to at least make an attempt to finish this project myself,so that I won't have to burden Oren with yet another project to contend with.

Here's my plan of action; once I get everyone's contributions via e-mail,I will record each vocal track into my Korg's onboard sampler,as this method will give me total control of the starting point of the vocals-simply by depressing a key on my keyboard at the specified time.

I'm not sure how this will turn out,but it the best possible alternative to using pc software(that I am completely illiterate to),as theoretically,I can easily, efficiently & effectively sync up everyone's vocals and hopefully it will turn out seamless.

I feel terrible to weigh down Oren with extra work, with all that he has to currently deal with,so maybe I can get all the vocals down this way, by the end of the week.

Thom,

If we get the collaborators to prepare a FLAC/Monkey'sAudio file as described above, it will set things in motion for future collaborative activity, and you can always bail and send the tracks to me if things get dicey on your end. It is a little more effort for each participant, but will guarantee a quality result if we need to go with  multi-track mixing and mastering.

It is very likely you'll be successful with your sequencer, but if you want back-up, I'm here. Anyone who knows multi-tracking will be able to prepare an appropriate file quickly and easily, so we'll be okay either way.

Carry on,

Oren.

I'll back up Oren if necessary. If I know him it'll get done. Focus on getting tracks together, with the aforementioned clicks if at all possible. Sooner the better.
Try to follow his instructions above for individual tracks.
We've got plenty of space available right now too, if needed.
