Here you are ! We can call you the sonic rambler
I usually like your music but this one is even better than the last efforts: superb! and I don't even noticed the loop thing, because it sounds like a progression of changing feelings
I had to download it because streaming always stops with a network error

I'm glad you have a new keyboard, I guess this is a small one too

Cheers

yep--new keyboard. 61 minikeys just fits from arm to arm on my "studio chair" (the lazyboy recliner)

just an unsuccessful attempt at capturing an image I witnessed last evening while at a dinner party, when the fog rolled in.

It is a loop that should take a few plays until one realizes it is a loop with 4 different 8 bar sections. I manually looped it in the file.

I just realized why I don't mind piano as a composition tool.

-no vocals- Grin

Hey Bill! Wanted to listen before I go offline a few days. Until I get my new puter up and running.

Ok, so what's the image?

Using a loop? Bill?  Roll Eyes Cheesy Can't really tell.

Nice. Sounds like music! It'll probably show up on Chinese television sometime soon.

btw, do you have to turn your fingers sideways on those tiny keys?  Cheesy

strangly enough, the minikeys fits me better then a full0size.

must be all those years of guitar playing- dunno. But I do know I can't play quick runs on a full sized keyboard. This one's a little easier to play then the Prodikeys thingy (Radio Shack's finest lol) The small keys allows me to wrap my hands over each other in ways I could nebver do. Having the extra octaves means I don't have to switch while playing- or doing another track and of course some of the errors are edit-ted out and I think I'm unable to play the simplest parts without screwing up

hope the new puter's a monster.
I just got a dual-core amd 4000 with xp and for me, it's plenty powerful (haven't choked it yet)

this tune showed about 10% on the cpu meter, and it has 12 vsti's and two reverbs applied

Doesn't it just seem that way sometimes! Grin  I think I had that disease tonight, in fact.

hope the new puter's a monster.
its a q6600 w/ 4 gigs of the 800 mhz ram. I'm intersted to see what it does with latency as its actually slower at 2.4 than my P4 at 3. Hoping the cores make up for that as I'd like to run at 2.8 or so with ASIO.

I read that there's lots of "headroom" for overclocking to 3 without reliability or heat issues, but I don't know what I'm doing and afraid to screw it up. I always thought headroom was something one needed if he had a big head.

I'm pretty excited about the sound card (E-MU 1616m) I bought with the help of the folks here. With the cables and "stuff" it was almost half the cost of the puter (including my Musicians Friend 10% VIP discount  Roll Eyes   Cheesy   But, it has all the ins and outs I need or should ever want. All balanced. And goodbye headphone amp and audio buddy. Also has two midi's, which is good, as I finally figured out my lousy CME UF8 is actually less quirky running directly without the USB midi drivers. So I'll run both keyboards through midi directly.

Enough about me. How's the truck runnin? Cheesy

the truck,
hmmm

I hit an unmarked speed bump in SAC pretty hard and my radiator core cracked. (waiting on parts as usual)
I'll be holed up in hobbitland for until next Monday

Today was a (rare sunny warmish (56F) day. Perfect for riding the bike, going to the repair shop, 'removing' liquid wastes etc.
Well stocked with everything but whiskey (self-imposed again)

hey
how ya doing mr hit-and-run?

In case anyone reads this.
I cannot play a real piano.
The difference between a real piano nd a synth is I can record the midi notes without paying any attention to the duration of the notes.
After that I just turn on "sustain all notes" and edit some of the durations. A synthetic piano doesn't build up the mud harmonics that a real piano will when left in full sustain.
Still, the  synthetic piano has to become the focused instrument/voice because of the space taken up by all those note trails (mixing/writing hint-o)
