Will & Kara,

Interesting videos in terms of when all of this took place,as I was 6 years old in '75. Grin
They were certainly pioneers in thier style & method of music, but 9 minutes of that Autobahn song at that tempo is awful! Tongue

The melodies are nice, but I don't get the feeling of the Autobahn at all from these guys...no relation at all to what must be the most exhilarating experience of driving at high speeds in a mountain range,in such beautiful surroundings.

Thanks for sharing this though,as I had never crossed paths with this band & it's always cool to see where electronic music was spawned from. Cool

Here's another one that shows what Kraftwerk were/are all about.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5c81X6BiI0Y&feature=related

I think this a a recording from a BBC information program.

Kraftwerk was indeed part of the pioneers of the early synth music. I even got some vinyl records from them... yes those were part of my early vinyl collection : anybody remembering "We are the robots... ti titit tie.... we are the robots...." or "She's a model and she's looking good...".
O yes, indeed great stuff. I also remember another song of another record, calles 'Ohm sweet Ohm....'

I must install my old record player again and make some Kraftwork samples !

Moon

I never got that vocoder of the G2X sound that good. At least now I know that it isn't a problem of the vocoder, it's a lack of knowledge on my side...

I miss the old days of early electronic music. Does anyone remember the work of Kraftwerk before they got famous? I still got an old record here (you know, the vinyl thing), with the song 'radioactivity'. The music is perhaps old, but their message is still up to date. Check this one :

Enjoy !

Good find!
There aren't many groups that maintain their integrity over such a long period of time.
