Hi,
I found this forum through here:
http://www.chineekong.com/free.htm

Now I need to compose a song similar to the drum songs heard in the movie crouching tiger hidden dragon.

Here is what I know:
-samples are sounds of instruments used in some program
-how to create compositions using notation software like Finale and Melody Assistant

Here is what I want to know:
What software do I use with these Chinese sounds to create compositions?
Is it like notation software where I can enter in the notes?
Where do I get this software?

Thanks for the help!

A software sequencer will arrange your sounds and "record" the notes for your composition. The notes can be entered in some sequencers by music notation.

In Linux, "Rosegarden" will do the job.
In Windows, "PowerTracks Pro Audio" from PG Music has a notation option.
