Oren,
That 59.56 has fixed things  Cheesy

So, just to check, we now have :
intro, v1, v2, ch1, v3, v4, v5, v6, ch2, v7 / outro.
Is this correct?

Do you intend coming up with the extra lyrics?
Have you got the extended version with just piano/drums so we can mix in the bass to taste?

Righteous blue guitar, Mario... Cool

Would you be so kind as to post separate lead and rhythm guitar tracks here as Ogg Vorbis files so that the crew can download and install them in the mix?

Thanx Oren.

Attached are the Ogg files, one here and the other on the next message. They will line up with the original length version.

As always feel free to use all, non or some of this.  If you want anything else feel free to ask.

James,
Thanks for keeping us organized! Wink ...yer map is absolutely correct

Extra lyrics for the chorus/bridge are on their way - or at least an example to provide some clues as to how to proceed with that whacky chord structure.
The extended piano/drums track is attached... Kiss Cheesy

Here's how she looks, Bucko!

(if it's cool with you and Wyatt, I'd like to edit you both into the mix, trading off your best licks, sort of like Knopfler and Atkins... Cool)

Of course it's ok  wOO

It's a collaboration, right?

As I said feel free to use all, some or non of this.

PS- if you're going to put me with Wyatt I may want to practice up a whole lot.  HE'S GOOD

Separate tracks - more mix control. I agree. When Kara returns on Sunday or Monday, let's see if we can talk him into it... wOO

Michael,
Would you care to reveal which DAW you're using for this project? And maybe a few words about your computer and what accessory software you favor? Hmmm...?

Hello all: My pc
OS Name   Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version   5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600
System Type   X86-based PC
Processor   x86 Family 15 Model 107 Stepping 1 AuthenticAMD ~2599 Mhz
Total Physical Memory   2,048.00 MB
Sound card     M Audio Delta 44

Daw's (I'm a PC/Windows guy)
99% of everything I do is Energy XT 1.41
(I find it quick and easy and I tend to work with midi tracks)
I have Sonar 6 and will be using that for this collaboration as it has Superior mixing features.
(been with cakewalk since my first pc, came bundled with the soundblaster card)
Using Sound Forge 8 to do the og to wav conversions.

Favorite software
VB3 Hammond Organ emulation
OP-X Oberheim emulation
Kontakt / Garritan GPO and JBB, Steven Slate Drums
Yellowtools / Culture and Majestic
(pretty much a Vst/i junkie)

Favorite hardware
Like Wyatt I dig a maple neck Strat. ( I do not have one with a solid one piece neck )
Zoom GFX-8
Alesis QS7.1
Roland TD-3 (used set, picked up recently, my first set of drums in 30 years. Man drums have changed a lot!)
Last but not least My oldest and dearest friend, Just back from the shop getting the top repaired, a mid-late seventies Japanese Epiphone. As Pete Townshend said "Never sell your guitar or your pen".

Guess a guy will collect a lot of stuff given enough years!

I'd be intrested in something quicker to do the Ogg conversions?

I'm watching all of this with great interest, but will definitely be taking a back seat. There really is nothig I think I can add - I'm also desperately trying to get 'clockworks' completed before the end of the month Roll Eyes

folderol, I was hoping you would pop in. I'm hearing an organ to fill out the rhythm section?
That might be up your alley, if you've got the time?

Think countrified B3 or Wurlly version of your tune "Steady Eddie". Smiley

I'm lucky that Reaper handles encoding both ways, in and out, to almost any file format.
I have used MediaMonkey
http://www.mediamonkey.com/
which is excellent so long as you set the preferences so as not to accept file associations, otherwise it can take over your music collections.

Otherwise I recently downloaded BoncEnc, which seems to be really quick and easy although I haven't used it much.

 Huh Huh Huh

I don't want to dampen the enthusiasm on this one, but I have a reservation !!
 Shocked
If it is just me, then forgive me and move on .... but,
I been messing around with this all day and, for some reason, cannot get that 16 bar section to work properly.
Then I stuck the project into Audacity and changed the tempo from 60 to 90 and that was it !!!

At 60 the 16 bar section seems stilted and is difficult to get any flow to it ... at 90 it just ROCKS.
It fits perfectly in with the flow of the rest of the project.   Undecided

Any opinions .... or should I just go and slit my wrists now ?   Roll Eyes

James,
Yup. At 90bpm the whole song takes on a different vibe Shocked, and that 16-bar section beginning with the G-chord flows better.

I'm mixing down some vocals that I recorded for the 16-bar G-chord section, clocked at 59.95bpm, and it's sounding cool.
However, if the tune is fundamentally flawed because of the slow tempo, speeding it up would be the remedy. This would result in a very different song, and require we all compose our tracks again.

Is that your suggestion, mi amigo?
