Bass melodies from the beginning tell me how experimental unique this track will be.  I rarely listen to anything with a bass that moves that much, let alone compose that way.  You go for reaching high aspirations with this track.

Really interesting glitch drums.  I don't listen to enough to provide adequate feedback, but I do like them.  Your effects are ace (The cawing thingie).  Dark piano again... I think this is the second time I've heard a dark piano from you -- sounds good.

I love how this track sits on the same bassline and it still doesn't get boring and still have plenty of variation.  In spite of the dissonance and rythmic drives, I can tell that this piece is very emotional, and a tad melancholy.  You've got some really good ideas here and I'm happy that you shared this with us.  Cheers!

Many thanks Northern_Fist for your comprehensive review. Glad you enjoyed it.  Smiley

I am going through one of my depresive periods and it came through on this track.

Hi Blip

I like yer depressed stuff. You should write more while yer in a funk. I gave up depression years ago but much of my favorite music is down type stuff..

This tracks got a lot of space in it and some fine sounds. the drums are awesome!

Yeah, the drums are awesome, Blipp!!

Tunes got a great vibe...sorta dark....but I like that.

Seems your last several tunes have taken a different approach with the basslines. Sounds intentional.....less resolving...less melodic...less conventional. Works well at 4:00 though!!  Ok...here's some personal opinion... you've always a lot going on in your tunes, and the bass and drums carry what you can create above that. I don't think the new direction in your basslines are working as well as...well, for example the work on your last CD. Just my own personal preferences though, so probably not helpful or valid.

It still shows your talent Blip but it's not exactly my kind of music.
I'm more the kind of guy that wants that music brings joy to people. Certainly the reason that I wanted a moderator for the dark & evil section.

Cheers for listening Fred and Rony.  Yep this is a bit of a change of direction for me, but i like to have some contrast with my more upbeat, optimistic sounding stuff.  Some who are familiar with my usual tracks are going to find this difficult to get into and that's fair enough.  Wink

Cheers chaps.  Grin

Hi Blipp
there's a very thick and intense atmophere here. dark mood
This truly original, very well done on the technical side, but I enjoyed the emotional impact.
Great synthetic bassline.
It evokes images of driving at night with a bad weather in me

Cheers

This evokes some controversial feelings. I like the mood in the tune but I have the feeling you don't exploit it to its full potential. After 1:40 the tune seems to lose its way a bit. I like the somewhat robotic bassline and drumtrack though.

Hi blipp,

Very interesting..I was listening to this a half hour ago, and went back to listen to part of it again, and my sound went dead.

It starts slow..makes me curious..then the high tones start and it gets larger. I like that.

I like the ending too..nice round trip.

Hi blipp,

I guess you should read some philip k d.i.c.k* book...

It's like the song is telling us how heavy can be life sometimes.
Like walking against a deep wind, the walk is jerked.
Not far from the time you will say "I give up".

I liked it. Very intimistic in a way. Electro depressive ?
A jewel anyway.

Thanks!

bye

Some Richard James in it....i like the contrast between the mangled drums and the dark atmosphere. Quite good!

Hi Blipp,

This piece is hauntingly beautiful and very accurately illustrates your angst,as your music intervenously enter my bloodstream,as if I downloaded your thoughts.

I understand why this genre is too much for Kara, but sometimes there is joy in sharing one's pain with another, because in doing that, you eleviate your isolation & cleanse yourself.
To maintain joy or to bounce back into the state of joy,one must go through cycles to keep the balance.
I have been through some heavy downward periods in my life and when I recovered,I wrote nothing but comedy albums for like 2 & a half years to keep things upbeat, but sometimes it's necessary to allow yourself to feel your dark emotions.
Did not intend to write an essay, but your music evoked some thoughts I wanted to express.

Man,I really love this forum...great,great stuff happening here. Grin
