Here's an entry for over there.

Lyrics are by Drew Roberts, who has a website full of short poems and prose.

Guitars and Whistle, from James

and the rest from me.

Thanks a lot guys Smiley

I had hoped to be able to get some more from James to add to this but time has run out Sad

However I've made some additions and changes myself. There is a Bass line, and some quiet flute counter melody behind James' whistle. The synth background bleeds in slowly during the intro instead of coming in suddenly. Finally, I've put some reverb on the vocal (hope it's not too much).

Ho hum. Just been asked for version 2 instrumentation with version 1 vocal.

Here we go!

And, seeing as it's now the 25th here,  Happy Christmas everyone Smiley

Salutations in return, Mr. Godfrey Smiley

An opinion, for your consideration:

Version 1 embodies an earnestness and uncluttered elegance that is lost in versions 2 and 3. You and James share a disarming simplicity in your productions that, in your collaboration, amounts to a signature style. An old Canadian saying, "don't mess with perfection", applies here... Wink

This is one super piece of music, but what would you expect from two outstanding musicians.  Great job gentlemen.

I agree with Oren about version one. My analogy is that version 1 is the one the musicians want, version 2 is what happened after the engineer got through with it while version 3 was the producer’s compromise. I liked the feel and honesty of version 1.
