Yes I'm in. Actually Fred and I have decided to do a collab. So that's only one track for the both of us. If you want however I can always provide a second solo piece.

Just curious: what rules (except for of course not containing any copyrighted materials) will the tracks have to commit to? I'm thinking mainly of length issues such as minimum and maximum duration.

Good question I've allready discussed this with Moon At the moment we have 13 participants and at a certain time, we will have to close the participation treat. So basically the limit is the length of the CD, which is less then 70 minutes if I remember. I would propose that the max. length would be under 5 min. Any toughts on this ? k Just curious: what rules (except for of course not containing any copyrighted materials) will the tracks have to commit to? I'm thinking mainly of length issues such as minimum and maximum duration.

No real minimum, as long as the song stands on it's own. I know great songs that only last 2 minutes. Do bear in mind that the song should be "complete".

Between 2 and 5 minutes sounds perfect. I had an idea which would be cool if it would work (although I can see a lot of potential problems in practice) is if we could also include a longer piece of, say, 10 minutes that was created by as much of the other contributers as possible. Say, everyone makes something of 1-2 minutes that has to be in a certain range of tempos and includes several bars for fading in and out. Someone else could then build on that and deliver it to the next one. In the end, you should have a composition flowing from one contribution right into the next and hopefully working as a track in itself too. I think it would be important to do this one after another in order to avoid ending up with ten very different and hard to combine tracks.

Well, we can do this as an extra track. If you can find people to join you in this idea, then please do ahead. But do try to make this sound like a whole. Perhaps starting with a simple beat or track of 10 minutes and then letting the song filled in by others might be a way to get this starting. I propose you make the kcick-off and see how far we get with this one marc
