...just looking for clues...

« on: September 03, 2013, 06:58:39 PM »

A guest at our international hostel opened his guitar case, only to find that his axe had literally broken in half where the neck joins the body. The instrument is hand-made, and a very unusual design, so we got busy and executed a repair for him in our little utility room. "Weldbond" glue was selected, and a large adjustable clamp deployed.
After three days clamped, and two more days to let the glue cure, we set up the guitar with medium guage bronze-wound acoustic strings (.013 - .056), and tuned it to pitch.

After a week in service, it's still holding together, and sounding good!
