Hello everyone,

I'm moving my first steps in MMA and find it great.
I cannot solve a problem that I have in multiple songs.

For example:

Tempo 97
Groove Ballad
1 F / C
2 Dm
3 C
4 C7

On bar 3, there is a moment of silence on first beat. I think it's related to Ballad groove. How can I avoid it, other than by changing groove?

Thank you,
Ignazio

First ... welcome to the wonderful world of MMA Smiley

The "Silence" on the 3rd bar is just how the groove was designed. There is a nice bass note there. But, if it bothers you there are several simple solutions:

1. Use a different groove,

2. Enjoy the silence. Frankly I think it sounds just fine (but I wrote it),

3. Use a riff modification for that bar:

Groove Ballad
1 F / C
2 Dm
Chord Riff C1234
3 C
4 C7

Riff is something to apply to a SINGLE bar

4. Modify the groove itself. That, too, is easy:

Groove Ballad  // load the groove to change
Chord Sequence C1234 C13 C1 C13 /// just an example, probably sounds awful
DefGroove Ballad  /// now we have a new ballad groove in memory

Let us know what works.

This is a wonderful world indeed!
Since I play bass guitar, bass track is disabled in my song! That's why I've this problem.

Thank you for the solutions you gave me.
I think I will "fork" ballad.

Thank you
Ignazio

Yes, the missing bass will make it sound very odd indeed ... that's why I aways want a bass player in my group Smiley

Should be easy to have a new ballad groove. See the manual discussion about having your own library which can override the default stdlib.

I don't know, I think a "Beat=..." followed by "Auto" could be enough. At least, in my experience. But I used this solution so rarely... Maybe for other songs it's different.

Sorry, but I have no idea what you mean. Perhaps a few lines of actual MMA code might help me Smiley
