Always loved the southwest flavor of this song, all wrapped up in a neat little Newave package. It's one of those rare gems of the 80's that I will treasure for all time. This is one of those songs that appears somewhat simple in composition, but the unique arrangement and timing of this song, proved to be a very challenging task. Just searching through my libraries to find the right sounds, was very time consuming...so after about 3 days,I have finally managed a makeshift version of this classic.

If you've watched any MTV back in the day,you will know this tune...but if not...here is the original; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyCEexG9xjw

I feel the hot wind on my shoulder,at the touch of a world that is older
I turn the switch and check the number...I leave it on when in bed I slumber
I hear the rhythms of the music,I buy the product and I never use it
I hear the talking of the DJ,can't understand just what did he say?

I'm on a Mexican radio...I'm on a Mexican woah-oh,radio

I dial it in & tune the station, they talk about the U.S. inflation
I understand just a little,no comprende,it's a riddle

I'm on a Mexican radio.I'm on a Mexican,woah-oh,radio
I'm on a Mexican radio.I'm on a Mexican,woah-oh,radio

I wish I was in Tijuana, eating barbecued iguana
I take requests on the telephone,I'm on a wavelength far from home
I feel a hot wind on my shoulder,I dial it in from south of the order
I hear the talking of the DJ,can't understand just what does he say?

I'm on a Mexican radio.I'm on a Mexican,woah-oh,radio.....

Hey!

Really nice cover! The 80's feel is here! The chorus is really catchy!
I didn't know the original but I've listened to yours first. The lyrics are fun! Cheesy

Great work!

Thom, your search was well worth it!  The sounds are perfect.

I am familiar with the song and you did it justice, super job!

If you have a poem, I have a tune, and we exchange these, we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.

Schweet! How stoned must that composer have been? Or just fundamentally spacey by nature??? Cheesy

Those terminally bored desert folk and their incessant peyote consumption, leads to some most peculiar musical meanderings!   Wink
