...just looking for clues...

« on: December 02, 2014, 11:31:27 PM »

Seven years ago when I was very new to Linux, I fell in love with Ubuntu Studio version 7.10.
Full-featured, rock solid, with a really serviceable "real time kernel" for latency-free audio processing.

Then, the "upgrade" to version 8.04, and it all fell apart... Glitchy performance, and released without that lovely real-time kernel. What the Hell?

As each new version was released, I gave it a test drive, only to be disappointed by a series of sub-standard efforts over a period of nearly seven years.

Version 14.04 has changed all that. Completely functional support of audio/video/graphics applications ; low-latency kernel ; an excellent selection of software ; and all applications working seamlessly together.
So good, in fact, that it is in service running both our multi-media computer, and my new Intel-Asus audio/video computer.
