Who? Me?

I'm still totally lacking in any inspiration Sad
I do practice and play a bit most days but there's just no spark currently. I've had 'dry' spells like this before. It's all rather depressing.

If you have a poem, I have a tune, and we exchange these, we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.

I'm sure this will NOT help ... but I feel the same way. I put it old age. My wife says I'm just lazy.

I've been having trouble with my creative flow in the last week or so,so I am currently working on revising an old tune.I really miss the days when this forum was teeming with members and whenever there was a lull in inspiration, you could always find new inspiration by collaborating.

As it happens I just had a kick-start into inspiration.
I was approached by a Romanian performance poet
( http://marmoset16.wixsite.com/ancabruma )
who does her vocal readings over musical background.
She had heard some of my work and wondered if I would try some 'fusion' type East/West sounds.
Always willing to expand my boundaries we just finished this one and have a couple more in the pipeline.
This is all my composition, music and production.
Jamstix Middle Eastern hand percussion, acoustic baritone guitar, bouzouki and whistle.

Well it's sort of nice to know I'm not alone. I think one of the things that flattening me is the amount of effort I have to put into Yoshimi - it's proving to be a bit of a monster - still, it was my choice.

I wish there was some way we could attract new people, or even wake up some of the old ones.

That's certainly a new direction you've take James. Interesting... but strange!

"I wish there was some way we could attract new people, or even wake up some of the old ones."

At the time I thought the 10 years project idea would do that but I was sadly mistaken!

I check in here almost daily, still, but it seems I have very little to offer these days that isn't self-promotion. I have never been comfortable with that so I don't do it.
The way my own music has developed over the years it would seem that there aren't enough like-minded souls here now.
It's a real shame as I will always have a soft spot for this little corner of the web and the friends I have made here.
I have tried to promote this place on other forums but it is obviously a 'stony ground' thing!
