Title: Indian Mystique
Post by: elwoodblues1969 on May 08, 2008, 02:20:14 AM
This piece represents my fascination with women of this ethnicity...

Hi Thom,

interesting sound, nice rhythm. But from 03.12 so it seems as if your fascination reached a critical stage. ;)

Hey Andreas,

The drums are from my Korg Triton Extreme and everything else is from my Novation XioSynth...until now,I never thought I would be combining sounds from a $3,000 synth, with a $400 synth! ;D

Yes indeed,it is critical for me to find an Indian woman and if I have my way,it will be done! ;D

Thanks,

Thom

Some sweet sounds, there, Thom!

I like the song.
One item that deserves comment is how complete each of the sounds from the Xio-Synth are, and how cluttered the soundscape can become when layering. It seems that a good policy when using this synth is to exercise restraint.

This tool can deliver a powerful musical message,

Oren.

There are unusual textures and evocative sounds here, I think you rendered very well the exotic idea of a different culture
Very nice tune

Cheers

Thom, very nice.

But the song should have ended at 3:11.  After that you lost me!

It was great up till then!

Oren,

I agree with you, that I went overboard with the layering, but it was in a fit of passion over the array of programs & effects I have to play with and I just went hog wild.
However though, the drums are completely dry(with the exception of a compression effect),so that's why I had fun with the effects on the XioSynth.

Thanks for your input,

Thom :)

L.R.,

Thanks very much for your kind words...I'm glad you enjoyed it. :D

Mario,

Yeah, the ending is harsh, but I wanted a really hardcore exotic impact.

Glad you liked the first 3 quarters of it though. :)

Thanks,

Thom
