Who? Me?

Well I don't know if I'll get this knocked into shape in time. It seems harder and harder to get anything done in time. I don't know if that means I'm running out of ideas, trying to do too much, getting old ... or all three Huh

Anyway comments welcome before the concrete sets Smiley

Hmmm. Now maybe I can start to look at something for our review Roll Eyes

Hey Will,
First off .... I got to remind you the 3 minute rule  Shocked
But ... this takes me instantly right back to 1963 ... the church youth club saturday dance.
Man, you just nailed it exactly.
For the *over there* contest.   If you can stick some *posh folderol* lyrics in there you have a sure-fire winner ... and that's no joke.  This is first class.
.....and I think I worked with that drummer once  Shocked .... only once  Roll Eyes

Oh bugger! Thanks for the warning.

I was having so much fun I completely forgot about the time limit.

Damn, Damn, Damn.

I guess I'll have to lop a verse off, and maybe slightly accelerate the timing for the contest - but I'm keeping this one for full-on polishing Smiley

That drummer is a hopeless when he's had a few. I've managed to straighten him out a bit, but he'll never make pro standard.

Lyrics? He wants words? Dunno if I can manage that in time.

Glad you like it, and you got smack on the year I was aiming at  Cheesy

Shaking head & tapping feet here  Cool

Hmm in 63 I was only 5 years old, but isn't that tempo not slightly to slow for a 60's rock ?
Just asking...

As this one unfolded, I found myself looking for a more definitive shuffle-time (syncopated?) beat to get that woogie boogying.
Then I remembered we're in the Folderol Zone - all bets are off, and no rules apply Grin

Nice work.

Well, the drummer's been sobered up and he's at least keeping time, although not playing very imaginatively Cheesy

I also killed the reverb on the organ, bringing it to the front and making the 'venue' sound smaller.

@offthewall
In the final version I'll drop out the section just before the 'fluty' bit, which will bring it all to a sniff under 3 minutes.

@kara
Quite right. Tempo upped to 130BPM

@Oren
I've moved some parts a bit more off beat, but want to avoid getting a bit cheesy with a full shuffle.

New version here.

I liked your first version, but this latest one is
smoother and very cool, Will.

I really like what you've done with it.

Cool

Once again thanks so much for your kind words, thoughts and suggestions.

Putting anything on show here always seems to generate ideas that I'd never thought of. At the same time, I find just the fact of knowing my work will be critically examined means I take more care, especially with production issues.

Folderol, this is a happy fun time song that is expertly played.  Great mix here, you did make it sound like it’s from the early 60’s

Flashback-I remember playing stuff just like this in the early 60’s.  The only difference is that approximately half way through the song our singer would say “We’re going on a short break and we’ll be back in 15”   Wink

Quirky, richly layered, yet discreet. A challenging group of attributes, competently addressed...you did good, bro Cheesy
