Title: ...what's a tsunami?
Post by: Oren on March 11, 2011, 11:19:48 AM
The folks who know about earthquakes and big waves informed residents of the west coast of North America that we would probably experience some big waves about 8:00am (5:00pm GMT) Friday, coming at us from Japan. Actually called it a "tsunami warning". I work about 300 meters from the ocean, and finish my shift at 7:30am, so it could be an interesting walk home.

Don't worry, I can swim... :D :D

Keep dry Oren ;)

The waves are only expected to be 50cm, so at worst I'll get wet up to my knees... ::)

Not somewhere I'd want to live!

That's some serious Lighthouse engineering to stand up to such a battering, and they don't look exactly 'new' :o

I was so sorry when I heard about the tsunami today.

Hope tomorrow is a brighter day for all... :)
