Look here : http://www.hitlab.com/hit-it-bigDynamic Hit Scoring (DHS) compares the structure of your music to the top 100 billboard charts of the past six years. Seventy-eight variables are measured to determine the song's hit potential. A score of over 70% means your song is widely appealing because it demonstrates similar mathematical patterns to recent chart-topping hits by the industry's biggest stars.
Hilarious Or perhaps not k

Interesting!
This would mean that if everyone used this process then every new song would be very much like an old song. Nothing really new coming done the pipe. If this process was used over here in the USA in the early 60’s then there would be no British invasion, i.e. no Beatles, Stones, Animals etc.
I’m sure they will probably make a lot of money but I feel that the process is useless as no one can really tell what is going to be a hit and what is not going to be a hit.

This DHS bulls**t is the most blatant & diabolical display of corporate greed I have ever witnessed....it reminds of a line in a movie,in which the theme of the story is about using biological weapons to rid the planet of humans,in order to preserve the ecosystem & animals of our planet......and the line was; "maybe the human race deserves to be wiped out". The older I get,the more I want off of this planet. -Thom

The older I get,the more I want off of this planet. My experience is that folks who write music for the joy of it, make the best music.

Well IMHO, only an idiot would pay for stuff like this. But... having said that, there is 'some' truth behind the theory! Have a look at this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHBVnMf2t7wObvioulsy in this demo they have transposed all the songs to the same key, which they don't say (!), but it is true that a lot of modern popsongs only contain 4 chord and have the same structure. So it could be seen as some kind of streamlining the public... Luckily we have good musicians here who are willing to experiment with music. See what I mean ? Oren, Great to hear you're going better. If they offer you an electric weelchair only go for the best: - Turbo engine - Assisted breaks - Full leather seat - Airco -.... k

Kara, yes there is some truth to the theory Go back to the 50’s and all you needed was three chords, I-IV-V7, to play 90% of both rock-n-roll songs and folk songs. Then the I-VIm-IV-V7 covered the other 10% It’s a good thing one can not copyright chord progressions

Don't forget the on-board USB coffee maker I love coffee, and USB. Coffee is known to interfere with calcium absorbtion in the gastro-intestinal tract, so my normal 3 large cups a day is a habit I can no longer continue. But USB is suspected to be very healthy and non-fattening....
