Title: More mma utilities and a gui
Post by: bvdp on November 20, 2010, 05:18:05 PM
A good friend has been working on a GUI for MMA and has a lot of
his beta work available at

   http://www.mmafriend.uku.co.uk/

These utilities have been developed using Object
Pascal and Lazarus. Have a look and a try and don't forget to email
the author with suggestions, bug report and kudos.

Good to see collaborators assisting with adjuncts to the main MMA program. :-

(all my efforts are presently expended just learning Linux and a few of the basic music production tools. like Ardour, JAMin, and Hydrogen - MMA is, however, on my list of software to learn as time permits)

I'm biased :) But I think that MMA is much easier to learn than any of the packages you mention. Mind you, I really dislike GUI programs ....

Let us know when you need help!

Can I assume you mean "help" with MMA? :D!

(once I've had an opportunity to evaluate this old-school A=432 tuning, I may approach you about the possibility of adjusting the pitch of MMA's generated tracks... but, that's for another time, and another thread)

Well, not a big deal. MMA just generates MIDI. So, if you need to "detune" it, it's up to your synth's settings. Most modern keyboards have a "tuning" setting (apart from transpose). So, either retune before playing the MIDI files ... or you can insert the raw midi codes into a mma input file which set the proper tuning. I'm not sure if this is stanard between synths. If you need help in interpreting the codes from you manual feel free to shout.

Thanks - you're the man, Man! If it proves to be worth pursuing, you'll be the first to hear... :-*
