Title: ... Love of dragonfly :) and KARA says to me...
Post by: Daniel Pompougnac on January 20, 2008, 06:10:25 PM
Very, very bad english language  :D

Imagine.
You're at the edge of a pond. Twilight.
Herds of mosquitos with fighting formation.
Cries of love of mad dragonflies and splashes with worrying eyes :)

Imagine.

An old friend, Nicolas, is playing mandolin on this piece at the point 2.31. (There's also a midi mandolin in background).

Kara said to me (read the thread):
Quote
Just an advice, copy the hard left panned vocals allso to the right with a very small delay. It will fill up the song.
So, I've modifed the pan of voices and add a little background vocal. It's better, yes, Kara.

-----------------------------
Bam, dababam, papapa papam, papapapapam...
-----------------------------

Je me baisse en frôlant le clapot,
Transhumance des moustiques en troupeaux.
Je me baisse en touchant la morte-eau,
Le soleil se déchire en lambeaux

... and oups, I forget again : the pond samples are not mine. Found on Freesound.

You painted a vivid colours picture with this song.
I can't understand the words and posting the lyrics helps a lot  :-[
I like the dramatic mood and sad atmosphere.
Technically speaking this is a very good work. Each instrument comes out of the mix really well.
Well done

Cheers

Once again we have a very different style.

Interesting use of the accordian. Is it real one or synth?

I like the mix of instruments overall, as well as the vocals.

The accordion is 2 SF2 banks. I've listened some musicians and CD to understand this instrument (left hand, right hand) and write this song. The rythm is "pampoumpa, pampoumpa, pampoumpa"    :D.
Now, a friend is OK to play accordion for me. Nice.

Thank's for kind comments.

Daniel

Daniel, Super song!

I can’t understand the words but the picture you’ve painted is fantastic.

Great production.  The blend was perfect!

Those were the best accordion SF2’s I’ve ever heard.

Very nice atmospheric piece. Accordion is well done. Good work.

I thought so to. The Accordian caught my attention immediately - I use to play in the school accordian band!

Oh, you're a happy guy, Folderol. I like this instrument.
An old instrument, but so nice.
I should like to learn...

A very nice song Daniel. The accordian sounds great - very authentic. The vocals are good (even though I don't understand the words) and the whole thing is very atmospheric. Great production too - every instrument sounds clear.

I didn't understand all the vocals, but I think the music made up for it with that moody melody. Nice recording too  ;D
