If Depeche Mode where to ever write an ambient piece,this would be it-as it's very distinctive,with a transcendental setting...very pretty-I like it alot. O0 However though,the song does not remain as interesting as like the first 2 minutes and the last 2 minutes of the song. I think that if the middle of this song had more content,such as it being layered with some chord progressions or something to that effect,this song would really be alot bolder and complete. Also,if the drum tracks had a touch of reverb on them,it would really thicken the mood & accentuate the whole ambient theme quite well,I think. I 'think' that the build up is to slow to call it IDM. It"s not easy to make a minimalistic track and keep the listeners attention, you have done this very well. you're well known here for great arrangements and extreme care for finely tuned productions this one doesn't make an exception. I don't really care labels, but this is certainly a rhythm imposed ambient thing imo. My appreciation goes to the choice of sounds and the melancholic atmosphere achieved with a wise minimalistic arrangement.
