Title: A Pensive Melody Post by: folderol on August 14, 2007, 08:42:54 PM This tune was composed at a very sad time.

If you are like me.....I write songs, sometimes, but can't really sing......why not post a framework of the words that are obviously in your mind and see if anyone here can sing it? I'm sure it would be wonderful. You truly have an 'ear' for a melody. 8) James Title: Re: A Pensive Melody Post by: folderol on August 14, 2007, 10:57:16 PM Hi James
You are quite right, it really should be a song, however at the time I composed this I was quite beyond words. I just used to sit at the keyboard and play it over and over. Since then odd phrases have come to mind but nothing that really says what I would want to. Title: Re: A Pensive Melody Post by: elwoodblues1969 on August 14, 2007, 11:05:02 PM A very sweet expression of your sadness & very interesting sounds.Reminds me of Enya.
I hope you take this melody further. 8) Elwood Title: Re: A Pensive Melody Post by: kara on August 15, 2007, 06:20:35 AM Sad & lovely

-> elwoodblues I composed this in the early 1990s, but it is only in the last couple of years that I decided to make just a few tiny alterations, instrument changes and let it out in the open. I'm not sure whether, or when I'd make further changes. Title: Re: A Pensive Melody Post by: Oren on August 16, 2007, 09:02:40 PM Will,
I like your style! Effective layering of synth sounds, nice blend of melody and accompaniment. Great song. (then there's that old-school gear, and the Linux operating system on an AMD-equipped computer.... ;D) Top notch! Oren. That was absolutely beautiful! I agree that something that nice could also be done beautifully as a vocal. HOWEVER...some of the most beautiful words I've ever heard, were notes that came from the heart. I hear you. Mick |
