I wonder what our mastering experts here think of those :

Seeing as how our mastering experts must be away on vacation, right now :D, I had a look....

The advice and information that is actually presented seems accurate and well-organized. Much of it appears to be specific to one brand of software. Some of the theoretical background I didn't understand at all ... :'(

The best advice I ever heard about audio mastering is "learn to trust your ears". Seems to work for me  ::) ;D

Wyatt,
With this new JAMin mastering program, you can see both levels and frequencies as you work. It's amazing how often I find myself going with the meters rather than with how the music actually sounds. Temptation....

L.R.,
Solid wood is a great advantage in music ;)... an over-active brain will often interfere with the process. It's a good idea to find your inner voices and tell them to just shut up... :P

First of all you have to use your ears.  If you notice something 'out of balance', then you can go to the meters for help.
Of course looking at the meters as a distraction is a lot of fun too... :D
