Though it's a big generalization, I'd say it's 50-50 for me. I have lots of sessions when I don't do music but play around with my music setups and integrate stuff, try to make things work and attempt to improve on things. Usually, when I'm making music though, I depend on the setups and presets I created earlier so then there's very little 'technical' stuff going on.

I think for me, it was 10% music and 90% technology...

But, since a few months I got the M3, it is about 50/50 !

This has an impact on my musical skills  Grin

I'm counting things like sound creation as musical time..along with developing a new song.  Tech time is time directly related to geting stuff to work, in my eyes.
Processing, mixing, mastering= music time too. IMO

I voted 90/10. I dont tend to do anything to my computer setup for long periods of time. Once i got it all set up then thats pretty much it. I dont try out alot of new plug ins anymore as I dont really feel that I'm lacking anything. My system is stable and I dont have the money to buy new hardware often. Even when I do it's usually a microphone that the money goes to so thats a little different. I have a computer that I use only for recording and basicly I just turn it on and go.

The voting seems to be forming an interesting curve with more votes appearing towards the extremes.

Yes it is
but I'm glad the upper extremity is more consistent than the lower... Wink

well, I don't take technology to bed with me.... but except for the occasional book and riding the bike I'm either trolling forums on the interwebs or making music (more of the former, lately)

I’m in the 70/30 class.  Not because I want to but because I have to!

Music creation is my number one computer hobby with photography coming in second.  But I’m managing 5 internet computers (mine, wife, 3 kids) as well as my off line music computer.  I seem to spend a lot of time googling computer problems and doing backups.  My two sons are pretty much on there own but my wife and daughter need a lot of help at times.
