...just looking for clues...

« on: September 28, 2010, 01:03:25 AM »

It turns out that after having a heart-to-heart with my "muse", overdriven electric guitar and synthetic drums is my happy place. This production reflects that.
Drums by "Hydrogen" - recorded in "Ardour" - mastered in "Audacity" - sound effects by "Whysynth" - all in Linux O/S "Puredyne".
Electric guitars effected on the way in by two different Digitech processors. No bass.

Oren,

Listening to this soulful groove puts me in my happy place! Afro If you would care for some bass action,I'd like to give it a go and possibly add some keys as well.

To collab with you again would be good for my soul...especially since I've had a bit of writer's block lately.

If you're up for it,let's get cracking!

Thanks Oren Cool......umm,I'm usually terrible with abbreviations...so you'll have to refresh my memory on what "FTP" is? Huh I looked everywhere I could think of...the artist section, the review section, the collab section...

I remember you mentioning FTP before, but I forgot completely.I'm accustomed to swapping files via e-mail,so it's been a long while since the FTP thing has been brought up.

Thom,
Tracks coming your way via yousendit...

Will,
Linux and digital audio don't feel nearly as terrifying as they once did - thanks!

Rui,
High praise from a hoser whose guitar work has turned my head a few times. Glad you enjoyed it. Grin

Mario,

Glad you had a listen! (...love to play that guitar... Cheesy...)

James,

The electric bass deserves to have a worthy place in the mix, rather than shoe-horning it into obscurity somewhere down among the drums.
My preference is to write and produce music with the bass as a full-featured rhythm instrument, or not include it at all.
