this was recorded with julie's instruments (or ones she gave me) and the ambient/environmental sounds were recorded at her grave.
very different from my more usual schtick.
this is dedicated to cancer survivors everywhere, and to my lost wife, juliane a. pocius, 12/11/70-3/30/09
A 8va floating away
on a river of dreams
so far from the pain
and my silent screams
D my world left behind
toward a sun's fading rays
A someone holding my hand
but from so far away
D floating away
on a river of dreams
E crossing the bridge
to a shore never seen
A somewhere over the rainbow
by a clear running stream
beholding the glory
true almighty supreme
D touching the face
of the goddess above
E but leaving behind
everything that i loved (rit.)
A (8va) just floating away
on a river of dreams
leaving the place
where you were one with me
floating away
where you'll be one with me
floating away
on a river of dreams.....
(interlude)
D A D A D E (RIT.)
A(8va) floating away
on a river of dreams
the ferryman comes
someone's washing my feet
D waves of an ocean
calling me home
A drunk on the potions
and drowned in the foam
D floating downstream
on a river of dreams
A never seem to return
to those in my esteem
D or one who made
my dieing heart sing
E who gave me my soul or that granted me wings (rit.)
A (8va) now the lullabye calls me
to this world i can't cling
just floating away
on a river of dreams
leaving the place
where you were one with me
floating away
where you'll be one with me
floating away
on a river of dreams.....

Beautiful, Jimi ....... Thanks for sharing. James ps ... is that an appalachian dulcimer or a synth? It sure sounds real. I used to play one many moons ago.

I used to play one many moons ago. it's a stratocaster played an octave up, mic'd with a pencil condenser and direct simultaneously being recorded. it was then processed with nusofting's deepboard vst.

Yes, this is a very beautiful song. I really like the lyrics! Great job on that and the mix!
A very creative use of a Strat. I’m sure Leo is smiling down on you!
