This is my first post here at Kara-Moon. The song is an entry for the KVR contest. The theme of the contest was to emulate a different artist, and I chose Crosby Stills & Nash. Hope you like it!

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Kara, I found out about your contest and since it only requires 30 seconds of music it may be something I could do sometime, but you see how late in the month I was with this one, and I don't see my schedule lightening up any time soon. Thanks for the invitation.

I picked this up on the KVR submission.

I agree it is extremely good.

Hehe, great song. I like your arranging and orchestrating style (not only on this one, but generally speaking) and I listen with interest (and a bit of envy) the guitar parts (that are so real) and the vocals (thing that I can't personally do), which I'll never be able to do at such high quality in my tunes.

Cheers, Petru

Great song and very enjoyable. Maybe a bit more bluegrass flavour than CSN would normally produce but who cares.

Very skillfull guitar playing as well.

Once again, I appreciate your comments!

Petru, the 6 string parts were real, but I had to sequence the 12 string parts because I don't own a 12 string anymore. I had to use two tracks and two instances of SampleTank. The first had a legato setting so consecutive notes wouldn't retrigger unless there was a gap between them, simulating hammer-ons and slides. The other was set up for polyphony. I tried to just use two channels of the same instance of SampleTank, but it treated both as if they were supposed to be legato.

Martin E, You're right, it is bluegrassy. Before CS&N, I had listened to a lot of Buffalo Springfield. Stills and the others did a lot of 3 guitar trade offs in the instrumentals that on some songs had that same sound. On listening to CS&N recently in preparation for this, I could still hear a lot of the same basic idea, but maybe not as much bluegrass. I tried to make the rhythm and over all sound similar to teach your children, but a steel guitar is really hard to emulate on a sequencer.
