Any drummers want to try to make this sound real? That 80's style drum mess is the worst part to my ears..
How about Real Drums?? Wyatt

I could try it. My styles list is small though, not a lot of selections. Also- we're going to all end up with the same drum sound if we keep using it on all our stuff! Sure beats midi or a drum machine though.

Same song with OffTheWall plugged in on acoustic for the first verse/chorus. I sliced/diced the best I could..it was missing the beginning section of single notes. Thanks again James- it definately shows the idea of what I want. Excellent job(especially for a 1 day turnaround). Ya done good. I'll work on drums..and stuff

Hi, Just as an experiment.....I've done the same thing again with a mandolin track. If you're interested just cut and paste wherever it may (or may not) fit. James

Thanks again, James- I'll check it out, meanwhile this is where I got it to this morning...sounds much cleaner and more like a song to me now, mainly just changed drums.

That's a vast difference, Bob. Definitely sounding cleaner already. This has potential.

I've only listened to the last version, a good performance As an occasional bass player I do have a litle problem... but don't know what it is the bass is to good or the drums are not good enough, but propably not a lot of people would realy notice it ? k

Yeah, there is a conflict with the bass and drums somehow. That's why I was begging for a real drummer to try it. That would probably make a world of difference. I simplified the drums on this version because they were too busy before, especially hihats and shaker. Whatever it is I notice it too. Maybe I should redo the bass line. The sound is from my old sampler..I'd have to unpack it from the closet to redo it with that sound..maybe a real bass would feel better (?).. Hmmm... something has never 'fit' on this song for me. That's why I put it out there for collab; hoping someone would be able to solve it. Thanks for listeneing Kara

I could do a bass line for this.......but then......if anyone else wants to........why not Kara? Anyway, let me know if you want it....I been a bass player before anything else! James

Updated version using Wyatt's guitar after the break, OfftheWall's acoustic for first verse and his mandolin at the end and I redid vocals
Anyone with any other ideas - it will be appreciated.

Didn't want you to think I gave up on this! Offthewall's new bass track (along with his acoustic guitar, mandolin) re-amped Wyatt's guitar during last verse etc etc

Great mix, Bob. It's really developing nicely. On listening to this a couple of times I hear (in my befuddled old mind) a 'girl backing chorus' in certain parts, as well as (pity Kara doesn't have time) a sax in the instrumental section! James
