This time I felt like creating an all electronic synth song, instead of my usual hybrid of acoustic & synth mixes...

Nice work, moments of genius, Thom. For my taste, too manic. A person can go anywhere with synthetic music, and I prefer that slow, big-bore, low RPM rumble - both in cars and in music. You end up red-lining here, when the intro promised "long and strong". Not a problem...just a difference in stylistic preferences. Carry on...

Oren, I understand were you're coming from...to each his/her own,but I'm not a mellow man 100 % of the time like "EmptySound"...I have to go with the flow,& at times, just bust out like a mofo. It's too bad that EmptySound just dropped off of the face of the planet for all eternity...I just get very nostalgic about the way things were when I first joined this forum. Thanks for the comments...it's always good to get a different perspective on my music...I'm glad there were parts you did enjoy. -Thom

Very interesting : there are a couple of elements that are recognizable as your own style Thom, but the overall is a much different business. It shows your polyhedrous quality (is there such a word in use ? ) Good and enyoyable Cheers

Eeenteresting. I don't mind the manic quality at all. The sounds are great...some of the transitions seemed a bit abrupt. Or, rather, they didn't flow into each other, like at 1:53 to 2:04...lovely effect, but it is just stuck in there as a solitary moment. I would have rather that you built off that in the section that follows. It actually doesn't bother me as much as that might sound. Cool stuff.

L.R., Polyhedrous?! I have to look that word up in the Merriam-Webster dictionary. Thanks for the comments, -Thom

E.A.,
It's nice to see a long standing member active again. :)Thanks for the comments & input. This piece is not one of my personal favorites,so I lost interest in working on it further, but I do agree with you on polishing it up a bit.....if I ever decide to re-work it in the future,I'll probably change the composition drastically.

I know this wasn't your typical style, but it is one that's worth pursuing even if you don't go back to this particular song. It reminds me of some of my early beat oriented work in that it shifts mode fairly dramatically throughout, which frankly I find very refreshing.

Thom I liked most of this song. The part that put me off was that god awful (IMHO ) static sound around 1:54 to 2:04. To me that came out of nowhere and then went nowhere. But again that could just be me and my old ears The other parts of the song I thought were super. I loved the soundscape and rhythms in this one. PS – I know what you mean about “busting out” Been there – done that – many times. Just go with the flow

E.A., The genre of music has nothing to do with the fact that this song is not one of my favorites...I just simply lost interest in the song...because the more I listened to it,the more old it became & I'm bored with it. Thanks for your interest & comments though. -Thom
