Here we go, ole timers.
This is the Elderly Brothers contribution to this month '3/4' contest 'over there'.
We got acoustic guitars, electric guitars, bass guitar, harmonica, mandolin, electric fiddle .... all played live by that little band down at the dance hall.
Elderly Waltz
Me and my brother were out on the town
Had us some beers, sun just gone down
When we heard the music come out of that shack
Strolled in the door and got seats at the back
We don’t look athletic, we can’t do no vaults
But we can do the 1-2-3 elderly waltz.
We looked round the dance floor and eyed up some gals
They mostly were smoochin’ or chattin’ to pals
Then a couple o’ grandma’s came into the joint
They latched on to us and came straight to the point.
We don’t look athletic, we can’t do no vaults
But we can do the 1-2-3 elderly waltz.
-------------------break---------------
We don’t look athletic, we can’t do no vaults
But we can do the 1-2-3 elderly waltz.
Now, you young kids may wonder what we got to gain
From a tired old lady with grey hair and cane
Well, I tell you we don’t come to look for romance
We remember the thrill when you ask for a dance.
We don’t look athletic, we can’t do no vaults
But we can do the 1-2-3 elderly waltz.
