 Cool
And .... in looking round for stuff I came across these.

The Hokum Hotshots are a couple of old pals of mine with whom I did the clubs when we were teenagers. I taught them to play guitar!  I stopped for a lot of years but they continued and are still doing it.

Another mate of theirs, who I was also in a band with for a while, is also here:

Around the same time I played bass in a band for this guy:

Impressive pedigree, James! Shocked

The guys I played with either died young, got religion, or cut their hair and got a real job. In any case they are all "under the radar".... Cry

Interesting tread, I'm (re)discovering some very good music here
Interesting to see that a lot of us here have rock influence  Cool

Perhaps, our next collab song should be a rock song?

A search on the web found one of my band-mates who is still active - Bob Hawkins. When we met, Bob already had religion, and was a very competent guitarist/singer. After we left commercial rock music behind, Bob started his own band featuring his family members, and promotes his religious philosophy through his music.

I learned a lot about music (and life) in my association with Bob, and consider him one of my principal influences - which is why I'm mentioning him in this thread. Some of his music:

http://radio3.cbc.ca/bands/BOB-HAWKINS-BAND

http://www.howmanyangels.com/band2.jpg (Bob is lower-right)
http://www.apachemusic.ca/home/bobpic.html (Bob accompanied by his son Jake, and drummer Ron Hill)

If you look closely, behind Ron the drummer, you'll see my old Fender Bandmaster amplifier sitting on top of a Marshall amp - Bob has kept it in his rig all these years.
