Well--just to contribute something...

This is an older song I wrote last year for one of the KVR contests (theme was glissando) some of you have heard it already, but others probably haven't.  I'm always working on new stuff--but you know--it takes me a while.  Smiley

Anyway, I took the theme and crammed it into every oriface of the song both technically and thematically.  The result is an odd little ditty, but one that I kinda like.  Smiley

All sound effects are public domain or used by permission.  Lyrics, music and vocals by me.

Predominant tools used:
Cubase 6
Halion Sonic
Superior Drummer 2.0
Cameo appearance by my wife.
Oh, and a couple of Waves plug-ins: Ren Comp and Doppler.

This was done pre-Motif, otherwise I'd probably have had a little bit better piano sound.

It occurred to me I might want to provide the lyrics for those of you who might want to delve further into what the song is about...

Ok... done talking now.  Just wanted to help liven the place up.  Smiley

Lyrics:
It's America's great pastime
Two outs at the bottom of nine
With the series on the line
It's a scene where myth comes alive

Sidney Bream is out of time
He takes a lead, ready to fly
When the bat hits a deep line drive
He grits his teeth and it's do or die!

Slide! Slide! Slide! Slide!

Leeuwenhoek was very sly
He lived in 1675
He heated glass made of soda-lime
And made a lens that was small and fine

He put the lens in a gold design
And took some water he found outside
When he looked he was shocked to find
A tiny world that was full of life!
(Will you look at the bacteria on that...)

Slide! Slide! Slide! Slide!

On my way to the northeast side
With my wife and my unborn child
The freeway's backed up a mile
And we've been on the road a while

My wife gasps and she gives a cry
She looks up and she says "It's time!"
On the right is the "exit" sign
But the left lane is where I reside!

Slide! Slide! Slide! Slide!

Thanks for the contribution, Scott! Kiss

Can't say I recall this one, but that's a very common line coming from a guitar player - here's hoping you can let that slide...
It's fun, clever, and those gliss-whatevers come fast, furious, and nicely executed. Schweet!

Kara-Moon has become less about socializing, and more about tasty bits of music, technique, and technology shared in an understated way. It's a fantastic resource, and the quality of input (ably demonstrated by your post) is unerringly first rate. It seems the site is more apt to percolate than come to a furious boil...
