How fast are you in responding? Do you have a lamp going on in your room showing that a new post has been made?  Wink

Any more thoughts on the new version? Do you prefer the slower or the faster one?

well, imho the fast one is better
the vocals fits in well, it's not forced in, so it's ok and sounds more brilliant.
Other people here could have a different opinion.... of course  Wink

In the German and also in the Musiclab forum people seem to like the old version better. Somebody also said the mix was better. I don't know what to think anymore...

Different ears, different opinions I guess  Huh Roll Eyes

But I definitifly think that the mix of the second version is more balanced then the first one.

I didn't make use of a limiter that much in the second version. Maybe for some people it's less commercial now. For some ears the song is a bit too hectic now.
Maybe I should use mix2 and go back to 128bpm?

That depends most of the story you want to tell I think....
At 128 bpm it sounds more as a balad, second mix is more a pop song.

So, what do you want to sound it as  Grin

Well, I don't think it sounds like a ballad at all in neither of those 2 versions. At the moment I'm thinking of going back to version 1 as for the tempo and keeping the slightly changed drums/percussion of the new version.

I think you should go back to the original bpm. The faster version doesn't do the song any justice. And the song doesn't need it. The mix is more smooth in the second one though.

Biggest problem I feel is the arrangement of guitars and piano all fighting in the same frequency range ( high midrange) which makes it, at least for me, a tiresome listening experience. I'm missing somethin in between the bass and the guitars so to speak to give the song a more solid foundation. It doesn't have to be there all the way through maybe only in the choruses. A more dark sounding fuzz guitar good do the job.

Just some thoughts.

Thanks. Someome said the song is on the same level most of the time. So maybe this could do the trick (apart from automatisation which I never ever tried).
Do you think it could be a problem that the bridge is very powerful (a lot of instruments play) and the chorus is more laid back?

Yes, that could be one of the problems as well. The arrrangement isn't very dynamic. There are few parts where you take things back but on the whole it's maybe too much "pedal to the metal".  Not that this is a metal song of course. But you know what I mean.

More often than not the chorus is the most powerful part of a song but it's not uncommon for a chorus to be more quiet than a preceding verse or bridge. So this need not be a problem.

I can see if people say, the song is on the same level, but I don't know how to change that. In the very first unfinished demo the guitars were even more dominant in the verses and I don't want to change the drums and make it quieter. I have no idea how to achieve greater dynamics.

I could give you some suggestions but then I'd really have to get into the song. Did you check your mail, yet.
