Interesting post..
We can always say that the new software is crude, and we will always need the human being..
To quote Barnadine:
"When all of human life is gone, the soul of man will linger on..an insincere emoticon."
..technology is seductive, de-humanizing, and oh so much fun.

Well IMHO, Microsoft should better allocate a bit more R&D resources in an OS that works.... k

Well I had a listen. I don't think we have anything to worry about for a very long time. Indeed, programs like this are going to make us sound even better

Seems a little desperate, doesn't it? But these are all tools, really. For instance, in the case of a shovel: it is not as "hands on" as digging a hole with your bare hands, and the resulting hole may not have that "personal touch".................but there are folks who can do a very artful job of digging with a shovel.... In the end it is all about the artist, not the tool....I hope....

Will, This scenario, by my reckoning, would require a symbiotic relationship. Therefore, as the music improves and deserves a better "tool", the musician responds by improving in kind - sort of a natural flow where one aspect of the relationship positively stimulates the other. (thankfully, entities like Microzoft don't figure significantly in these cosmic matters ) I think we're going to be all right, mi amigo.....
