Title: Kara Blues Post by: magmavander on July 23, 2011, 01:24:08 PM Hello all,
I am so busy this time (work, work, work = money, money, money) that I dont know when I will be able to write something original for the album. There is a song I like a lot and I have posted it here, so maybe it can be used in the tribute ? It was called Buzz Blues and it could be called Kara Blues. What do you think Azell ? Tu le trouveras là : http://www.kara-moon.com/forum/index.php?topic=2400.msg20490#msg20490 mag Title: Re: Kara Blues Post by: Oren on July 23, 2011, 09:56:49 PM Works for me... :)

Woah ... Mag :o This brings back memories. I LOVED it at the time .... and still do. :-* The whole atmosphere of this piece makes me think of Kara, mon ami. It is so much his sort of thing. If you ever feel like a re-make I would love to put some guitar on this. 8) ;) James Title: Re: Kara Blues Post by: magmavander on July 25, 2011, 09:06:45 AM :o Thanks james ;DWoah ... Mister K would be happy to see this happens, for sure... Title: Re: Kara Blues Post by: offthewall on July 25, 2011, 12:23:54 PM Thanks, Mag.
I'll just roll along with this version, for now, and see how things develop 8) ;) James Title: Re: Kara Blues Post by: magmavander on July 25, 2011, 01:08:58 PM Supercool 8) :-

OK, here it is .... Not sure if it actually adds anything to the piece :-\ but .... I had fun ;D Thanks for letting me join :- ;) James Title: Re: Kara Blues Post by: folderol on July 26, 2011, 06:54:42 PM Hand, meet glove.
Glove, here is hand. ;D Title: Re: Kara Blues Post by: magmavander on July 27, 2011, 04:55:29 PM Hand, meet glove. Glove, here is hand. ;D Yeah, that's it! I liked a lot the sound you choosed, it adds some grit (is is the right word ?) to the song. I like so much having a real musician playing on my stuff. Inspirative! Merci beaucoup Title: Re: Kara Blues Post by: offthewall on July 27, 2011, 08:43:32 PM 8)
I'm glad you liked it, Mag. I've been a long-time fan of music which mixes rhythms and tempos. I'm not at all technical and can never tell you whether it is 5/4 played against 4/4, or whatever ... I just go by instinct ::) In the 60's some of this stuff was pioneered by the 'Graham Bond Organisation' which featured Bond on organ and mellotron, Ginger Baker on drums, Jack Bruce on bass and Dock(?) Heckstall-Smith on sax, with a couple of others I think. His music was SO different, at the time, but had a very small take-up. In the 70's a similar approach was taken by Ry Cooder, this time utilising guitars and mandolins to create this sort of cross-syncopation. I have often been drawn into this style and did a couple of things with our old friend, Wyatt, with this method behind the compositions. I have enjoyed playing on this track but felt inhibited because of it being a 'finished' piece. I would love to make some sort of collaboration with you in the future, if you are up for it, mon ami. I know our brother, Kara, would approve. :-* Thanks again, ;) James p.s. for those who don't realise, I had to change Mr H-Smith's name because of the 'naughty word' filter ::) :o 8) Title: Re: Kara Blues Post by: magmavander on July 29, 2011, 08:42:47 AM I've been a long-time fan of music which mixes rhythms and tempos. Now in Buzz, the software I use to create my music, there is a new stuff similar to this : http://youtu.be/L8BXMMQZtYE So I now I begin to think about playing live with my computer keyboard 8) I have enjoyed playing on this track but felt inhibited because of it being a 'finished' piece. A finished piece ? ;D Well, I always feel my songs like unfinished ;) But I understand what you mean. That's why I wanted to send you the different loops of each instrument in the song, this way you can rebuild it to your convenience. I would love to make some sort of collaboration with you in the future, if you are up for it, mon ami. Cool! :; I know our brother, Kara, would approve. :-* I would love a lot too!! Merci beaucoup :-* Kara will bless us :) Title: Re: Kara Blues Post by: Azell on August 09, 2011, 08:45:29 PM ok Mag, c'est super. Avec le rajout de James, encore mieux :;
