I've redone part of my studio. The whole set-up has been redone from scratch. The goal was to have a clean set-up and it must be mobile in some way. Reason for mobility is that it will be used on the next KM-gig which will be full-electronic music After putting some thought in it, I decided to go for a central multi-cable set-up, you can see it (in white) just behind my keyboard. Actually all cables pass here and interconnect audio and midi. And the second job was to label all cables, this is pretty important... I didn't do it in the previous set-up and know what mess it can become. Other important feature is the central power-switch, which can turn the whole rig off, no useless power consumption any more from power adapters when I don't use the rig Anyhow, it's done now and the whole rig can be demounted and mounted again in half an hour k

I know, i know it's something everybody should do one day.... I'm not better then anyone, it took me 3 years of messing around, changing, loosing connections (where did that cable go too ) before doing it right But I'm satisfied, it's done in the right way now k

Schweet wiring diagram! Cool set-up. too. I like the natural wood organizer you've built on the keyboard stand... we'll all be planning an upgrade now... ...

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd add my "studio" photo's to Kara's subject...
Attached are some photos of my "up close and personal" audio mixing/mastering set-up.
Note my Linux operating system called "Puredyne". The four computers you see here are each running on a different purpose-specific Linux operating system. No microsoft here...
Those tiny Cambridge SoundWorks speakers are reinforced by a subwoofer on the floor. The black boxes are Bowers and Wilkins 303s, from England. At no time is my cranium more that 1/2 metre(20") from the soundsource; therefore all frequencies are in proper phase relationship - and it sounds fab.

Just as a coincidence .... Whilst working on a project with Thom I had to tell him I was putting things on hold due to the winter conditions in my studio. He was curious about my set-up so I made a short video for him to see exactly how I work. It fits into this thread so here it is for all http://www.viddler.com/explore/offthewall/videos/7/?secreturl=19632840 James Sorry ... try again now I've changed the link.
