Title: KVR September entry
Post by: offthewall on September 04, 2007, 10:55:51 PM
 :o
When I saw the theme I thought…….can’t sing, write unintelligible lyrics, strum guitar badly……..who on earth can I hope to emulate??
So here is my take on Dylan!

The Ghost Of Caviar.

Pretty close to the mark, but don't you think you're singing a bit too much ON key  ;D

Offthewall,

This is a flawless replica of Dylan's sound & style, but you should include written lyrics with it,as I barely understood a word. ;D

Very impressive stuff. 8)

but you should include written lyrics with it

The Ghost of Caviar (?)

Well he walked across the ocean
And he jumped from rock to tree
And he tumbled on the highways
And lived on honey bees

He looked a lot like poison
Drained from a desert rat
I thought I saw his wizened face
Beneath the crooked hat

He knows what we all are
   The ghost of Caviar

We watch him leap from buildings
A comet flashes by
The hundred thousand creatures bow
Before his baleful eye

He knows what we all are
   The ghost of Caviar

The crocodile lies waiting
On a rusty railroad track
The pirate flag flies overhead
The ghost is coming back…..

Very good track, and excellent vocal performance. I like it.
I like the lyrics, too
This month seems hard to come up with something good... (it's hard to choose... :-\)

Cheers

Hey James,

You did a great job on that..cool.

Guitar style, lyrics, and vocals..they all do it for me.

I got a kick out of that one.

I only wish I had had time to rope in young Wyatt with his harmickee to get that *real* Dylan sound.

Just for posterity, and the sake of 'finishing off', here is how the song should have sounded if I had not been rushed at the time.
Our own Wyatt on the harmonickee..... :D

Certainly a shame you guys didn't think of that before the end of the contest. This song could have won I think.

Nice touch Wyatt.

Now it is a realy Dylan song, gosh I loved that guy when I was a young guy  8)
