Hi all,

I've made a small snippet that is more or less a "pop ballad"  Roll Eyes
I'm not sure about it, so all comments and feedbacks are welcome  Grin
There is no title at the moment.

Thanks!

bye

... By the way I used here the Edirol Quartet VST for the "guitar", FM7 for the first synth that cames with the guitar, Bassline VST freeware for the bass, Infector, a buzz synth, for the melodic synth, drums were programed with SampleGrid, a buzz drum machine, with one shot samples. Trumpet and vocal are samples, of course  Grin

Soft music track, nice set of sounds, they all blends in very well.
It's like sitting near the fireplace in a cold winter day
That's good

Cheers

This has a sort of travelling feel to me. I sense trotting horse, pony and trap etc.
It would make a good background theme to a TV travellogue type program.

P.S.

It could do with a title!

Hi Magma

I liked this a lot - very atmospheric and great sounds. I  particularly liked the trumpet. Looking forward to hearing how you develop this.

Hey Mag!

Very nice and smooth and it moves well. Soothing. I like it!

Now, regarding, making a "pop ballad". I'm not quite sure what your after here, but I think, unless you add some interesting chord changes/progression you'll have a difficult time creating a hook (if that's what you want). Even with vocals, that will be difficult.

Also, the guitar sounds very mechanical to me at around 1:20 part....unless of course that was the intent  Huh

This one has big potential...

The intro with the picked "guitar" is very effective.
When the drums and bass are introduced there is an awkward feeling - perhaps a more natural-sounding bass would remedy this.

The passages where the strummed guitar is employed don't work well at all, but...

That last portion with bass, percussion, picked guitar, trumpet, and voice: magical. Very cohesive, solid emotional impact.

Oren.

Hi all,

thanks for all the feedbacks!! This is very positive and helpful to me.
I agree that the strummed guitar sucks, I made it too fast. I have to learn patience I guess  Grin

Martin, for various reasons I think 2008 will be more peaceful for me and I will have more time to work on music, not only writing a new song every three days  Cheesy

Bye!
