I'm insanely jealous of your decor - you even took it up to the attic!
However I can see it could get rather cold up there, which is not good for us {cough} mature artists.

...Did you clear your cache after the first failed attempt?...
Works lovely here. That is a most ingenious use of space and materials! In Canada, we'd put 2 inches (OK, maybe 4" ) of urethane foam on all the outside walls/roof before applying the finished interior surface... makes it easier to heat... Cool video, James - love that narration

Kara, Wow.....half of the gear in your photos I don't even recognize, but I noticed some of the gear goes back a decade or two(disk drives and such).....I'm so glad to be rid of my disk drive-based Korg keyboards! It's good to see that your Alesis Fusion is holding up well....I always wished that Alesis had made an upgrade from the Fusion, but being that Numark owns Alesis now,it's just as well that Alesis sticks to just DJ equipment. I would post photos of my studio-as it is currently, but I need to organize my set up as well & I'm expecting a new set of monitors for one of my PC workstations next week,so I'll eventually get my mess sorted out. -Thom

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd add my "studio" photo's to Kara's subject...
Attached are some photos of my "up close and personal" audio mixing/mastering set-up.
Note my Linux operating system called "Puredyne". The four computers you see here are each running on a different purpose-specific Linux operating system. No microsoft here...
Those tiny Cambridge SoundWorks speakers are reinforced by a subwoofer on the floor. The black boxes are Bowers and Wilkins 303s, from England. At no time is my cranium more that 1/2 metre(20") from the soundsource; therefore all frequencies are in proper phase relationship - and it sounds fab.
Oren, This is probably the most unorthodox studio configuration I have ever seen-but it does seem quite practical & your outstanding mixes speak for themselves. -Thom

Kara, Wow.....half of the gear in your photos I don't even recognize, but I noticed some of the gear goes back a decade or two(disk drives and such).....I'm so glad to be rid of my disk drive-based Korg keyboards! Very true, I stick to my gear The left groove box is a Yamaha RM1X and beside of the one is his bigger brother the Yamaha RS7000. I'm so relying on the RS7000 that I have 2 of them, just in case I need spare parts It's good to see that your Alesis Fusion is holding up well....I always wished that Alesis had made an upgrade from the Fusion, but being that Numark owns Alesis now,it's just as well that Alesis sticks to just DJ equipment. Having read a lot of post about the Fusion, I was very reluctant to buy it... Finally I found a used one that I could try before buy and it was in perfect shape. I have it for 3 years now and never had a problem with it. It's a real beast and pretty hard to master with a not so good manual. I've spend a lot of time to master it, but now I love it. I would post photos of my studio-as it is currently, but I need to organize my set up as well & I'm expecting a new set of monitors for one of my PC workstations next week,so I'll eventually get my mess sorted out. Looking forward to the photos k

The difficult part of having assembled such a completely amazing studio, Thom, is that there is absolutely no excuse for dodgy audio. Schweet!
