It's a free-for-all over there this month and this one just fell into place over the weekend.

Sounds like a sweet fairytail  Cool
I like that flute patch, a litle bit of breath sound would make it even better.

Thanks Rony. I'm glad you like it. I will have to try and sort of this breath control issue - I still don't know for sure where the failure is; Rosegarden, Qsynth or the soundfont itself.

This is another beautiful piece of music from you, Will.
You truly have a way of conjuring up sublime melodies.

Here is my contribution for this month.
As I missed out on the 'natural' theme last month, due to a severe case of 'real life' taking over, I thought I could use this 'free-for-all' as a second chance.
This is my evocation of
Spring.

Acoustic guitar, Irish bouzouki, penny whistle and fretless acoustic bass.

I recorded each instrument with only two takes, one for rehearsal and one for real.  I seem to be going more in that direction all the time.  I somehow feel the need to hone the playing skills more than the 'afterwards' audio editing.
The best thing I have discovered for a long time has been BackStage EQ, which is just so perfect applied to all of my acoustic instruments. It make more difference than I could ever have imagined.
Enjoy,
 Wink
James

Thanks James. Your comments are always welcome Smiley

I had a listen to your entry, and very much like it. The only thing is, I thought the whistle was a bit too subdued, as though it was hiding - on second thoughts, i wonder if that was your intention.

Hi Will,

You do have a knack for developing some fantastic melodies, then blending them with the perfect backing tracks.  This is another example of that.

Super job.

Thanks a lot Mario.

Following on from what James said about my entry for the current review, I'm considering creating a new album and calling it 'Clockworks'. 'Clockmaker's Workshop' would be the title theme, and this tune (after the KVR contest) could be changed to something like 'The Little Ballerina' as the third or forth track.
