Title: Canine perspective - not for everyone.
Post by: Oren on January 28, 2007, 05:10:49 AM
Pete Celano is a genius. He wrote the song, played the guitar, the bass, and learned to play the washboard just for this tune. Recorded and engineered it, and did 90% of the production.
And he asked me to be the voice of his dog. ::)
This is not normal, folks, so steer clear if you're easily offended...

In one word, i love it !
It has a very nice swing, allmost to nice to go with the lyrics :)

The mix is allso good, the only instrument i could discuss about is that washboard, since it is the only percussion in the song, I would have placed it centered. It disturbs a bit the mix comming only from the right.

Thanks for sharing

Kara,

Yes, Pete has his own way with a song, always brilliant, seldom ordinary. He bought four thimbles and had his wife find a washboard just for this tune.
And then contact me 3000km. away to do the vocal. A brave and foolish man. ;D

Thanks for commenting,

Oren.

I actually had the song in my head over the weekend, asking myself of what it remembered me.
I think I have found it, your voice and the style remembers me a television series 'Di ck Tracy', no I only have to find out why :D

Thank you, Kara and Oren!

Kara - the one-sided washboard is the result of the compression of the low-bitrate MP3.  The board is slightly right in reality, but nowhere near hard-panned.  I did the low bitrate MP3 to somewhat protect the song's future marketability.  If you would like to hear what it really sounds like, drop me a note - you have my email from my registration here on the board.  I'd be happy to hook you up.

Meanwhile, I appreciate the comments and kudos - and especially appreciate Oren's good natured willingness to play along with this little foray into insanity.  It has been a blast and a privilege.

Pete...

Hi Pete

and welcome to kara-moon :)
have a look around, a lot of stuff here and on the main site.
We offer allso the possibility to upload your songs and create your proper home page with the possibility of direct linking to your songs.

The fact of putting your songs on your home page and link to them here and elsewhere has another advantage, at the end of the year there is a freebie for the most donwloaded song   8)
But of course you can just put them here too

Have fun.
