Title: Music Theory
Post by: kara on March 18, 2007, 05:05:11 PM
No panic, I'm not gonna start new music theory treats ;D
Still, I'm working on a new song and I have a problem, so perhaps somebody has some ideas

ok, here we go...

The verse is in Db
The chords are :
Dbmaj7 | Ebm7-Ab7 | Dbmaj7-GbMaj7 |Fm7 - Bb7b9 |
Ebm7 | Ab7 | Dbmaj7 | Ebm7-Ab7 | Dbmaj7 - Bbm |Gb-Ab|

The chorus is in Ab
Ab |  Bb-Eb | Ab - Db | Bbm - Eb | Bbm | Ab/Eb -Eb | Ab | Bbm-Eb |
Eb - Ab |

Now I need a break in the middle of the song, which comes after a verse and before a chorus
I've tried this :
Fm | Bb - Eb | Fm - Gm | Eb-Cm|
Ab | Fm | Eb/Bb- Bb| Eb-Ab|

The problem that I have is that alltough it sounds 'politically' correct, it doesn't sound enough as a break.
Perhaps somebody has a better idea ?
